The beginning
The first person to come up with the idea of pictures in motion was a Greek mathematician, but the first form of animation was invented in 1841. The phenakistoscope was the first form of animation, but it was really a spinning disk with images on it to give a viewer the illusion of animation/ movement. The idea of the phenakistoscope was an improvement of the flip book.
The first animated projection was done in the same fashion; drawings moving through narrow slits to give the creation of moment. |
American animation
3D animations are so much more powerful than 2D that it seems unreasonable to not use 3D animation programs. 3D animation programs can do animation like 2D, have soother transition between pictures, sculpt models, have the models move, and even create false images in live action. The term false images refers to CGI standing for computer generated image. CGI is used in every modern movie, every green screen that has been show involved CGI. That Godzilla movie that came out, is mostly CGI. In that Godzilla movie, Godzilla is entirely CGI
